Who I am |

Dr. Elkin coaches the Brantford 99ers Minor Peewee AAA Hockey team. This team consists of 16 elite hockey players, many of whom will have a future playing hockey at a higher or professional level. The team is currently in first place in its division and ranked in the top 20 teams in North America at this level of hockey.
Dr. Elkin has been responsible for not only on-ice hockey skill development, but also off-ice athletic training, team-building and motivation, as well as off-ice education regarding health and nutrition. Many of these players are regular chiropractic patients and have their spines and nervous systems checked on a frequent basis.
It is not uncommon for Dr. Elkin to adjust players on the team immediately before or after a practice or game, sometimes in full equipment while sitting on the bench. Dr. Elkin has also spent a great deal of time with each of their parents discussing the importance of Chiropractic care, nutrition, and sport-specific training to increase their strength, flexibility, quickness, and overall health.
One of Dr. Elkin’s passions is spending time with the team in a group setting discussing the mental aspect to the game and improving peak performance. This past year the team worked on expanding their belief system of their abilities as a team and as individuals. Reflecting on the incredible amount of hard-work, practice on and off the ice, and self-discipline expands our self-belief. It therefore enhances the ability to become better at every situation whether in hockey or in life. |
